The majors of Persian language and literature have fundamental drawbacks besides their benefits. Lack of research view as main properties of graduate studies is the most important of these majors. Viewing some of these majors, in this paper, we have investigated the drawbacks and weaknesses led to the absence of research view in these majors. The most important of these items are traditional and theme- oriented view of classification and definition of the majors, lack of problematic and methodical view in the definition of majors and curriculum, reductionism in the selecting the texts and subjects because of superficial focusing on localization, lack of interdisciplinary approach. These drawbacks are in relation to each other, hence, one of these items results in the others. The most effect of these drawbacks is the lack of research view in academic literature. In this paper, we have emphasized on the attention to interdisciplinary approach for methodical and research-oriented extending department of Persian language and literature major.
