The issue of the development of scientific language by examining the language of literary criticism in Iranian academic research

The fact that the growth and development of societies leads to the development of language is a clear issue, but an issue that receives less attention is the effects of language development on the progress of society and the expansion and refinement of thinking. Among the areas in which this effect and influence is most evident is scientific language. In addition to being explicit and free from value judgment, scientific language is a productive language, and underdeveloped language in scientific disciplines can stop thinking in that field or make it difficult because thinking requires appropriate tools. Accordingly, academic disciplines around the world are trying to develop scientific language by consciously interfering in the path of language, which makes the dynamism of the linguistic field and, consequently, the breadth of thinking in that field possible. This research, by examining the characteristics of scientific language, addresses the challenges of developing this type of language in Iran and then examines the language of literary criticism in academic research on literature. Accordingly, in the absence of a discourse formation that addresses the needs of research topics, academic literary criticism either uses a translation language that is not productive and does not open up a perspective on understanding Iranian literature, or tends to use an ambiguous and laudatory language - close to the language of Tazkiras - which has challenged thinking and producing science in this field.
