Abstract

The practice of English as a medium for learning academic subjects in academic settings is becoming more popular all over the world. However, its application in music in countries where English is not the first language is controversial. Indeed, English Medium Instruction (EMI) is growing promptly in various territories such as the Middle East and North Africa as a part of internationalization. The application of EMI plays a crucial role in improving learners’ English skills and subject matter which can also affect learners’ achievement. The most important predictor of learners’ performance and success is self-efficacy which is also a relevant concept in the area of music performance. Although self-efficacy is significant, its contribution to music learning and academic accomplishment in EMI courses seems critical. Indeed, it should be taken into consideration as it is in direct relation to learners’ academic achievement. As a result, the main objective of this review is to inspect the contribution of self-efficacy to music students’ academic achievement in a context where English is used as the medium of instruction. In a nutshell, the current paper ends up with some suggestions and recommendations to be used by teaching participants in scholastic situations.

Abstract

Although the literal translations of the Qur'an seemed insufficient and unclear, and do not have enough adaption with Persian language, however in many cases these translations have strong points which make them better than modern translations. Some of the strong points of these translations are: accuracy in finding exact equivalents, consistency and cohesion with the text of the Qur'an, paying attention to the morphological and syntactic structures in the source language. On the other hand, Lack of eloquence, ignoring the deletions, literal translation of metaphors are some of the shortcomings of literal translations of Qur'an. In this regard, this paper is to study the advantages and disadvantages of following literal translations of Holy Quran: Dehlavi, Sharany, Mesbah-zadeh and Moezzi.

Abstract

In some of the theological verses of the Holy Quran, there are some expressions in which God addresses the holy prophet (pbuh) with a reproachful and warning tone. Some of the most prominent types of these blames are prohibitionofidolatry, enjoining to ask for God's forgiveness, prohibition of doubt, prohibition of following the requests of the people of the Book, notifying the priority of the fear of God over the fear of men, emphasizing the protection of God, and blaming the prohibition of God's Halal. Since the translation of these expressions to Persian or any other language may cause the readers to be suspicious about the chastity of the holy prophet (pbuh), the translation of these verses has become sensitive and serious, leaving the translator with too much responsibility. Hence, it is important for the translator to have special considrarion and dominance over theological fundamentals to be able to accurately transfer the content of these verses along with sustaining the grammatical and rhetorical structures and also the homology of influence on the readers between the source and the target passage. This study – utilizing the opinions of exegetes and researchers of Quran and relying on the theological presumptions – intends to analyze some of the most prominent translations of these verses. In this way, after explaining the possible weeknesses and strengths of these translations and assessing the different methods employed in them, such as literal, loyal, free and interpretative translations, the most succesful method in adapting the true meaning of these verses is introduced.

Abstract The essential aim of this study is mythologic review of supernatural creatures in one of the well –known Persian tales as named Salim Javaheri tale. In this article at first is tried to present main theories about myths and legends, then analyzed each of them based on mythological as well as folkloric aspects and to discover mutual relationships, because some theoretician believe mythologic review of folk tales is inappropriate and has no any credibility. On the other hand, literature review, specially mythologic review in texts of oral literature is not common in our country, so in some parts of the article extended capacities of oral literature, as an appropriate ground to use mythologic review, have been described. At last, a well-known Persian tale, Salim Javaheri, as an example has been used for a sample of mythologic review for first time. The elements of such review have derived from this text of oral literature. The new idea of this study, can be a beginning of later long studies for interdisciplinary recognition of oral literature texts. Keywords: mythologic review, folk tales, Salim Javaheri tale, hamzad, ghoul, pari, davalpa, nasnaas, gav-e daryaee

Abstract

Description: The study of historical axes is considered as a necessary subject for valuing and preserving the cultural identity of people in the structure of the city and it is a kind of mental and meaningful heritage of a society. While most studies focus on the body of urban facade, there are limited studies to analyze urban facade based on subjective dimensions and meaning.

Objective: The main goal of this research is to identify the effective indicators in the redesign of the facade of historical axes based on the semantic dimensions and the mental image of the citizens. The qualitative-quantitative combination of research and research conducted in this field to validate the indicators is considered another goal of the research.

Methods: In order to achieve the goal, a systematic review method has been used, and Farsi and English scientific-research articles have formed the statistical population of the research, and examining the interaction between research conducted using the tool of the review method is considered an important tool. The statistical population of the research is about 73 articles, which are based on keywords (mental image, meaning, and historical axes). Some articles were excluded from the research process in the screening process based on the PRISMA checklist, and finally, 57 articles formed the final statistical population of the research, and in this regard, Persian databases (Irandoc, Civilica, Elmnet, and Magiran) and in the field of English-language articles, databases (Scopus, Elsevier) have been used.

Findings: The findings show that the geographical distribution and the contextual characteristics of the environment have a direct impact on the understanding of the environmental meaning in urban facade and the indicators follow this issue. The internal structures of society, culture and individual dimensions are also abundant in the literature of the world, and in the quantitative dimension of research, the lack of use of basic theories and communication between components is considered one of the weaknesses of the researches. Based on this, the components and qualities of urban facade and the relationship between them and the basic theories have been collected through analytical tools and matrices, which include indicators such as maintaining the individual and social dependencies of the environment, the involvement of the five senses, and the existence of volume based on shape.

Conclusion: The result expresses the deep connection between the mind and the semantic dimensions in the historical facade. Due to the existence of cultural and historical heritage, historical axes have independent identities and characters that can stimulate the mind to understand their inner concrete meaning.

Abstract

Aims: Cities and their surrounding areas provide the ground for creating opportunities. Moreover, these places reveal systematic socio-economic fault lines, gaps, inequalities, and structural poverty. Cities are centers where ecosystems cross their functional thresholds and reinforce inequalities and vulnerabilities with increasing demands and pressures on limited natural resources. Therefore, it is time to move quickly from the extraction-based model in the last century to a renewable, flexible, and nature-based model which accepts the limitations of our world.
Methods: Therefore, this study aims to identify the concept of productive city as a novel concept in the theoretical field of urban planning using the systematic review method based on a four-stage model via formulating the search strategy of papers and search process considering terms of productive city, productive urban planning, urban productivity and nature city in the top citation databases. In total, 214 papers were identified from 2013 to 2022 in the initial search, 68 of which were selected as eligible for deeper investigation and response to the research questions.
Findings: This research indicate since adapting to the effects of climate change and resilience against environmental hazards requires a long-term perspective based on understanding nature.
Conclusion: applying the concept of the productive city as a nature-based approach, guaranteeing social regeneration, economic and ecological sustainability, and functional-spatial continuity of cities in facing the upcoming challenges and environmental hazards, and reduce the pressures on natural resources. Furthermore, this seems necessary in contemporary urban development plans.

Abstract

Sayyed Mortaza Qasemzadeh Associate Professor Department of Law, Faculty of Judicial Sciences and Admenistrative Services  Although, the meaning of interpretation and adjustment is clear and each one should be applied in its own place, it is possible that the judge interpret it in the coverage of adjustment. The message of this article is that the mentioned meanings have independency and each one naturally should be used in its own place and whenever the interpretations in the coverage of adjustment, it's authorized and its reversed is forbidden. The main aim in interpretation is making clear contract provisions and obviating its ambiguity as well. All interpretators' at temp is to obviate all covers with the use of interpreting rules and to achieve to the common intention of both parties. Judge cannot deviate from common will of both parties and review on the provisions of contract or impose his own will on them, though it is near to justice or in agreed with it. Because, the justice should be searched in the shadow of parties mutual consent which has obtained in freedom. But in adjustment ( legal & jurisdiction), it is revocated from common intention of both parties and contract provisions coordinate with new conditions. Nevertheless, on the basis of an analysis, legal adjustment specified by judge ends to contract interpretation; it refers basically to the contract adjustment and has root in agreement of both parties. Because this analysis is justified by using a kind of joint & implied consent provision and as a result interpretation occures in the coverage of adjustment. This article has been prepared and compiled in two parts: binary interpretation and adjustment (first part) and the requirement of will governing principle, adjustment and similar samples in divine law and subject law (second part), respectively.

Abstract

Aim: Patient safety is one of the most important parameters of quality health care. The role of health care workers in providing safe care is essential, and their positive attitudes towards this issue will positively affect patient safety. This review aimed to investigate the attitudes of health care workers towards patient safety in Iran.
Method and Materials: The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyzes (PRISMA) guideline was used to conduct the present review. Data resources including SID, Magiran, Scopus, PubMed, ISC, Web of science, and Google Scholar were chosen to conduct the literature search both in Persian and English without any time limit until the end of January 2021. Inclusion criteria included all English or Persian language studies in which the Safety Attitude Questionnaire (SAQ) was used to assess the attitude of Iranian health care workers towards patient safety.
Findings: In the primary search, 342 studies were obtained, finally 11 of which were reviewed. Among these, 10 studies had cross-sectional designs, and one study was a quasi-experimental research. Overall, 2162 health care workers were analyzed. The results of the present study showed that most health care workers in Iran had unfavorable attitudes towards patient safety.
Conclusion: As upgrading health care workers’ attitudes seems necessary to improve patients’ safety, it is recommended that health organizations provide regular patients’ safety training, both at employment time and during service to the health care workers who are in direct and indirect contact with patients.

Abstract

Hyland’s Model was the first framework to examine interaction between writer and reader of a text under two key concepts, i.e. stance and engagement. According to this model, any writer (un)consciously employs a number of linguistic devices such as hedges, boosters, attitude markers and self-reference to present his or her stance over a topic, and likewise uses some other devices like reader pronoun, imperatives, interrogatives, shared knowledge as well as personal asides to establish readers' engagement. In this study, a number of book reviews on Persian literary books have been analyzed thanks to the model proposed by Hyland. The corpus of study includes 100 book reviews; 50 reviews are selected from academic referred journals and 50 ones are taken from general journals. Once the corpus is designed, the linguistic devices related to stance and engagement have been extracted and counted. The findings showed that for each 11.7 words of the corpus, 1 word or expression of stance or engagement has been used. The negative attitude markers and imperatives are the most and least frequent devices respectively. It is shown that book review articles appeared in academic journals tend to be more critical, and furthermore, the articles published in the decade 1380 (Iranian calendar) put much more weight on attitude markers. It is also shown that the density of interaction markers is high in the ending section of book reviews. Taking the gender variable into account, it is revealed that male critics are more explicit in presenting their stance, while female critics are more willing in using engagement devices.

Abstract

Aims: Transportation of patients in hospitals is one of the main reasons for the prevalence of musculoskeletal diseases among health care workers. Considering that the practical action of recognizing and evaluating the studies has been done, therefore the present study has been conducted with the aim of determining the prevalence of musculoskeletal diseases and the determinants affecting the disorders in a systematic manner in Iran.
Method and Materials: In this systematic review, English databases of Web of Science, Scopus, Proquest, PubMed as well as databases Magiran, SID  in Iran, and also Google Scholar search engine in the period  Jan 1990 to Jan 2020  according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement were done. Study process was conducted from 28th September to the end of October.  Cochrane (adapted for evaluating interventional studies) and Strengthening the Reporting of Observation Studies in Epidemiology (STROBE) checklists (adapted for evaluating cross-sectional studies) were used to evaluate the quality of the articles. To avoid bias in the study, the data were analyzed by two researchers entirely independently. Any disagreement between the researchers was examined by a third party.
Findings: Out of 93 articles, finally, 10 articles2 (interventional and 8 cross-sectional articles) entered the final list of studies. Thus, the final articles were performed on health system staff (nurse, nurse’s assistance, helper nurse’s assistance and service workers). In all studies, the prevalence of musculoskeletal diseases were highly reported among those responsible for transporting the patient.
Conclusions: Considering the high prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders among the medical staff, the interventions carried out in the field of teaching the correct method of patient transportation in Iran seem insufficient, so that there is a need for better planning and designing more practical interventions. Also, often enough tools and equipment are not available for easy transportation, which should be considered by hospital managers.

Abstract

In recent years, more than twenty articles have been published in scientific Persian journals on stream of consciousness as a narrative mode. But in some of these articles, there is little knowledge about the theoretical aspects of this mode of narrative. This paper reviews 18 articles published in scientific journals on the subject and studies their errors. Some of these errors are as follows: misperception of the concept of the unconscious and its place in the internal monologue narrative, mistaking dramatic monologue for stream of consciousness, confusing internal monologue with other forms of first-person narratives, and misunderstanding the concept of soliloquy. One of the causes of these problems is that the authors do not refer to reliable sources. Another problem is the evaluation procedure of some journals that allows these articles to be published.

Abstract

This research answers to three main questions:  what, why, and how to develop evidence-based human resource management. A systematic review (SR) is used in literature review and qualitative interpretative meta-synthesis (QIMS) in synthesis and interpretation of data. 25 original articles were selected during the search, synthesis, and interpretation process, which eventually led to uptake of five dominant views about the concept of evidence-based human resource management (EBHR). Also, using this approach we found that it will improve the organization's outcomes and increase its competitiveness. Finally, by referring and exploring the literature on how to develop this approach in medical and health care field, we provide a framework for developing the model that is consist of thee sectors: process of evidence-based practice in human resources, influential factors or organizational determinants, and external factors or determinants. Each of these sectors will improve and develop evidence based practice approach in human resources management.

Abstract

Networked collaborations have become a critical approach to enhance providing quality service in health care systems. The use of collaboration structures and coordination mechanisms as a desirable governance model is essential for the success of network collaboration. There are different factors influencing designing good network governance models in health care networks. Considering the importance of these factors in designing the governance model, the comprehensive review of factors out of the network control has not yet been addressed. The aim of this paper is to identify the factors that are out of network control and influencing designing a good network governance model in health care systems. We apply a systematic literature review (SLR) to identify the intended factors. During searching for studies associated with our research question in the WEB OF SCIENCE database as a comprehensive database, the 1500 publications resulted. Screening resulted publications basis of title fitness with inclusion and conclusion criteria led to the 150 articles. Final screening the 150 articles basis of abstract and conclusion led to the 11 final articles that the 15 pieces of evidence were extracted from them. After synthesizing the extracted evidences for achieving an integrated view of them led to the 4 classes with the 15 components. In this regard, the environmental requirements, the level of government intervention in the health system, the nature of policies and interventions in the health system, as well as the rates of referrals in health networks were identified as the most important factors outside the network control. Network governance will succeed if the influencing factors are taken into account in designing it.

Abstract

Aims: One of the crucial issues of the health system in developing countries is the unequal distribution of health, which leads to inequality in social status and living conditions. Cervical cancer is the most common cancer among women aged 20 to 39 in developing countries. However, its social determinants are not yet fully understood. The present systematic review was conducted to collect the social determinants of health in cervical cancer that have been identified so far.
Information & Methods: This systematic review was conducted from December 2020 to April 2021 by reviewing Persian and English articles published in journals on social determinants of cervical cancer by the PRISMA method. First, the scientific databases were searched in the period 2000-2020 using "Social Determinants of Health", "Human Papillomavirus", and "Cervical Cancer" keywords (2333 English articles and 63 Persian articles were found). After evaluation, 20 articles (18 English and 2 Persian articles) were included in the study. The PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyzes) checklist extracted data from selected articles.
Findings: articles were reviewed, and social determinants of health in cervical cancer were presented in two general categories: structural (education, income, and race and ethnicity) and intermediate (access to services, behavioral factors, environmental-living conditions, and psychosocial factors).
Conclusion: The social determinants of health in the structural and intermediate sectors and their interaction affect cervical cancer. All aspects of cervical cancer are affected by prevention, screening, early detection, treatment, and rehabilitation.
