Abstract

The existence of social divisions in Sassanid society has always increased segregation as well as the passive movement of the lower strata of society and the emergence of an escape problem, which caused the fall of the Sassanids in one of the most sensitive regions of Southwest Asia. In this research, which is done using historical method and analysis of the theory of gap and escape in sociology, by asking the question, what was the role of social gaps in the event of escape from the Sassanid government and then its fall by examining the role of Iranian society? And in response to that; The research hypothesis is that the social gaps in the Sassanid government caused the escape of various layer 05s of society in society and due to the Sassanids did not follow the political custom of the Iranian government theory based on adherence to different ethnicities and religions, the grounds for internal and structural collapse. Findings The research shows that the natural existence of social gaps in Sassanid society with the behavior of the government has led to the beginning of their activities and then accelerated the process of escape. From the theoretical study of the gap and escape, it was obtained that the contradictions in the Sassanid society became gaps in the long run, and because the lower layers of this society had the lowest position; As the life of this dynasty increased, they became more and more interested in escapism; In a way, each components of the Sassanid society turned to its local and trade union interests without regard to the previous society and the external powers paid attention.

Abstract

Structuralist narratology does not provide methods and models to examine silence, ellipsis, and gaps in the text. This paper tried to examine the aspects of silence, ellipsis, and gaps in the narrative, by employing a text-based and analytical method. The text Nocturnal Harmony of Wood Orchestra was chosen for the analysis which is unreliably narrated. In order to identify unreliable narrator and also text’s unreliability, silences and narrative ellipsis were studied. Narrative style and related elements such as focalization, distance, narratee and the narrator’s motivation along with structural elements influence the types of ellipses in the narrative or they are influenced by the gaps of the unreliable narrative. The form can be used as a decentralization device to cover the silence or to create suspension by creating a gap. Moreover, anachronism can create or conceal the gaps and silence in narrative and frequent occurrences is a way of presenting and also covering the narrative gaps. Studying the relation between events and the catalyzer is also another way to understand the dimensions of silence and the devices that cover ellipses in the narrative. All of these were employed to study silence and ellipsis in the text.

Abstract

Sociological criticism in the literature analyzes the structures of a society through literary works. Embracing subjects concerning history and sociology links, types, social classes, ideologies, meaningful frameworks, and reflection theory in examining the artworks, Lucian Goldman, as a theoretician, proposed the genetic structuralism by organizing George Lucas ideas. Based on this method, the present study aimed to sociologically criticize the drama play by Akbar Radi, under the name of Ofool (The Descent). To do so, two major questions were designed to investigate the extent to which aesthetic structure of Ofool as a realistic work has a mutual relationship with the structure of the society in its era (۱۹۶۰s). It also explored the realization of the playwright's ideology, as a member of the intellectuals' social class, and the likely awareness of this social class in his literary work. Using descriptive as well as analytical approach, the study concluded that the overall framework of Ofool justified the why of social movements' failure in the ۱۹۶۰s and the pathology of that era via the representation of different social classes and the gaps among them. The author tried not to impose his ideology on the work and kept his play loyal to the realistic style although he reflected the values and consciousness of the intellectuals' social class in his literary work.

Abstract

Study air infiltration into the building in several ways such as energy, air quality, thermal comfort and pollution entering in the building is very important. In this context, many studies have been conducted in different countries. In our country due to the use of steel doors and windows, do independent research on the gap size and air infiltration is necessary .In this study, by practical view and in order to localize results, based on a field study, the actual dimensions of the gaps around conventional doors and windows in Iran is measured. The results of these measurements are used to simulate gaps, then with experimental study, air infiltration rate of this gaps is calculated at different pressures. In present study, after investigating the effect of different aspects of gaps on air infiltration rate, two common equations, power law and quadratic equation, in order to fitting data were compared. Results show that power law equation can adapt better to the experimental data. Coefficients of the power law equation to estimate the air infiltration rate through the gaps was presented. By analysis of the results, due to the proximity factor of the pressure difference to the number 0.5 in most of the results, it was concluded that the Bernoulli equation can be used to predict the air infiltration rate through the gaps. This equation is better compliance with laws and physical principles. Discharge coefficient of the Bernoulli equation for gaps with different dimensions are calculated.
