Abstract

Rereading the history of literary studies to evaluate quality and identify the strengths and weaknesses is one of the Important scientific measures; however, the abundance and distribution of scientific research in a specific subject, makes it difficult for researchers to identify and analyze the previous issues occasionally. As a result of those difficulties, repetitive and similar articles would be written which reduce the development and activeness of scientific fields. Researchers in each fields, can prevent similar and ordinary researches by identifying and critically examining the previous researches based on a coherent and methodical plan; moreover, by understanding the needs and gaps in those areas, they are able to do efficient researches as well. Due to the necessity of such an attitude in the field of Persian literature research, the authors of this paper have decided to introduce and review all scientific articles which are in connection with character and characterization issues. Therefore, by referring to databases storing articles, the number of Persian scientific research articles that had studied the character and characterization in contemporary fiction that contained these two words whether in topic or keywords were found. Afterwards, 73 articles have been found in terms of methodology, objectives and question the number and type of studied samples, used theories, results, references, etc. some data reviewed and analyzed statistically. According to the results, incomplete and ambiguous abstracts, some unfamiliar researchers with the correct structure, essay writing and research methods, uncoordinated research components and some repetitive issues and approaches and resources, are some of those studied articles problem. Paying attention to the new subjects and theories, cooperating with graduates in various majors, choosing the efficient theories and using the other research methods by researchers can help improving the research results and developing this issues as well.

Abstract

This paper attempts to apply a critical perspective to study 30 academic papers about the similarities between tales with the minimalistic stories in the western literature. For this purpose, the mentioned academic papers are analyzed through a descriptive-analytic method in two main themes, including the ethics and principles of scientific research and the accuracy and reliability of the findings and results. The results of this study show that the mentioned papers possess several errors in term of adhering to the ethics and principles od scientific research. These errors include self-plagiarism, repetitive structures, repetitive and resembling titles, negligence over conducting research background, deficiency in the structure and framework of the whole article, and the absence of integrity, which means copying and quoting other resources without any citation to the original reference, using false and inaccurate quotes and changing or manipulating the sayings of other references. Moreover, including non-fiction texts, dilating unnecessary and irrelevant themes and topics, bringing up inaccurate analysis and evidence, neglecting over the reliability of claims, and finally, the absence of any new, clear and correct findings are the issues showing that all the analyzed papers lack the authenticity and reliability necessary for the scientific research. Considering the main purpose of all these papers which is to prove that tales and minimalistic stories are the same literary genres, producing several academic papers on the same topic has no academic necessity.

Numerous studies in the last decade that have investigated the stylistic features of literary works in morphological layer do not help much in advancing stylistic studies and historical behavior of Persian language. In the present study, which evaluates the literature of stylistics in morphological layer, twenty-seven research papers and dissertations written in the departments of Persian language and literature in Iran have been reviewed and critiqued. The findings indicate that these studies suffer several shortcomings, including: misunderstanding the basic morphological concepts, defining overlapping morphological categories, misreading texts and misidentifying the grammatical role of words, neglecting the diachronic behavior of Persian language, confusing research strategies and introducing unnecessary and redundant models and some other common mistakes. These problems are serious hurdles in the way of stylistic studies in morphological layer and also understanding Persian language changes. Finally, some suggestions have been made to address the aforementioned problems.
Introduction:
Studies on literary stylistics would seemingly lead to weak theoretical and applied literary research if linguistic theories and tools were not considered. Although in recent years, some researchers have paid attention to this important issue and inspected stylistic studies, they haven't considered linguistic theories. Literary stylistics as an interdisciplinary field studies literary styles with the help of linguistic tools. It is argued that the goal of literary stylistics is to find linguistic data for critical judgment of literary texts (Wales, 2006: 213). Studying the stylistic research related to morphological layer, the authors tended to investigate the attitude of researchers toward morphology.
Materials and Methods:
Investigating 18 research articles, 7 MA dissertations and 2 PhD theses in the field of Persian literature, this paper studies and evaluates the studies in field of stylistics and morphology, employing Spencer and Zwicky (2001) and Shaghaghi (2010). Morphology studies the internal structure of words and its rules and relations. The goal of the studies in the field of morphology is to identify words from non-words, morphemes and their types, types of words and word-formation processes. Also, inflection and derivation are considered as two distinct areas in morphology.
Results:
This paper found that although these studies open a way toward stylistic study of morphology, they suffer some shortcomings, such as:
A) Misunderstanding the basic morphological concepts: It is obvious that stylistic researchers who focus on morphology and lexical layer should use the terminologies and specialized words of this field, so that avoid using unrelated terminologies. Any violation of this principle will lead to the confusion and misunderstanding of the readers, and finally not transferring the knowledge. Investigating the corpus of the present study, the authors find that there exists chaos in the use of terminologies and specialized words in the field of morphology. The most prominent misunderstanding of linguistic concepts was related to two key concepts of derivation and compounding. Stylistic researchers utilize "derivational compounding" and "derivational compound" to indicate the processes of derivation and compounding, and this shows the inattention and carelessness of these researchers in the use of standard terminology in the field of morphology.
B) Defining overlapping morphological categories: Investigating the corpus clearly shows that the authors didn't consider homogeneity principle in analyzing the Persian word-formation system. For instance, "affixed and semi-affixed compounds" is, in fact, the same as "derivation" in Persian which is formed by affixation. Furthermore, the concepts of "infinitive compounds", "adjective compounds", nominal compounds" and "truncated compounds of agentive and accusative adjectives" are overlapping and obviously shows the misunderstanding of researchers in identifying and differentiating the fields of morphology, syntax and semantics and also indicates their carelessness in methodology and in defining the categorization of concepts in a scientific and systematic way.
C) Misreading texts and misidentifying the grammatical role of words: some research, although few, didn't correctly identify the grammatical role of words, for example Abedi and Ali Jola (2015).
D) Neglecting the diachronic behavior of Persian language: One instance of neglecting the historical changes of language is incorrect usage of words like "archaic" and "obsolete".
E) Confusing research strategies and introducing unnecessary and redundant models.
F) Neglecting the application of coinage and neologism: In one of the studies (Golizadeh and Gorooyi, 2012), some words were regarded as coinage which were used long before that date.
G) Neglecting foundations and principles of corpus linguistics: Neglecting foundations and principles of corpus linguistics is one of the important shortcomings of the investigated studies. Most of these studies were done to investigate linguistic innovations and word-formation skills in Persian literary works.
Conclusion:
The negligence of researchers in choosing the corpus, linguistic norms and its frequency hurdles in the way of stylistic studies. In addition, the analysis showed that the researchers didn't consider linguistic knowledge. Stylistic linguistics uses linguistic theories in description and interpretation of literary texts, so the stylists in the field of literature should know linguistics and apply it in research. In order to satisfy this goal, there are some suggestions in stylistic studies in the field of morphology: a) choosing one linguistic element or concept in research, b) determining a definite goal for stylistic research, c) using linguistic theories for understanding the basic concepts of research and designing a purposeful structure for the research, d) studying the existing linguistic corpus.

Abstract

The concept of "silence" in Rumi's works and poems has been one of the concepts that has attracted the attention of scholars. Books and articles which have tried to explain the concept of silence from different mystical, theological, linguistic, etc. points of view have been analysed. In this research, with a critical-analytical perspective, while classifying and describing the various approaches that researchers have focused on the subject of silence in the works of Rumi. We will discuss the missing link in these studies, that is, the lack of hermeneutic reading of silence in the works and poems of Rumi. The hermeneutic silence by which the word of truth is reflected in the language of the mystic, has been scrutinized.
Introduction
In the field of literary, mystical, philosophical studies, etc., Rumi's research has a large and fruitful and extensive record. It is very clear that the works of Rumi, both poetic and prose, are in the field of mystical literature. The capacities and capabilities of Rumi's works have made it possible to open the door to many reflections and research from different perspectives. One of the concepts and topics that have occupied the minds of researchers in recent years is the category of silence in the works and thought of Rumi. Research on the subject of silence have explained and analysed this concept in Rumi's sphere of thought with various approaches. Accurate classification of books and articles written on this subject is difficult due to the entanglement of concepts and approaches. In order to. We have tried to classify these studies thematically, including:  the study of Rumi's silence in the moral-mystical field, study of Rumi's silence from a philosophical perspective, study of Rumi's silence from a psychological perspective, Study of Rumi's Silence from a linguistic perspective, investigation of Rumi's silence based on prosodic weights, comparative study of Rumi's silence. We will briefly outline and describe each of these studies, and then, we will point out the missing link.

Discussion
What is presented in the general conclusion, is that there are different approaches to silence. The focal point in the studies is that they refer to silence as the unspoken. In other words, it is the silence from which the words of truth emerge and the mystic becomes the language of truth and in this mystical experience, existence is seen as a language fifes and serenades. Rumi in his works, has referred to this type of silence and most scholars, despite its description and expansion, have not gone beyond the limits of Rumi's references and in this case, have not been the designer of a new perception of silence in Rumi's mind and language. Therefore, it could be said that the fundamental aspect of Rumi's silence and eloquence has been neglected in these studies. This original and fundamental feature is the hermeneutic reading and interpretation of silence in Rumi's works. That is the most important feature of silence. It should be noted that hermeneutics is a term coined by the authors of the present study under the influence of the philosophical ideas of the German philosopher Martin Heidegger. To further explain this term, it can be said that the meaning of the word hermeneutics in this interpretation has served the word silence and its content. Because silence itself, due to its fundamental nature, has an opening and revealing aspect and creates an opportunity for openings and manifestations. A trait that can also be attributed to the term hermeneutics according to its function.

Conclusion
In many studies, including articles and books on the concept of silence in Rumi's works and poems, not even the slightest hint of the hermeneutic nature of Rumi's silence has been mentioned, and in most cases Rumi's words about silence have been repeated. While showing the hermeneutic analytical absence of the concept of silence in Rumi's works and poems, we explained the hermeneutic dimension and revelation of silence, including annihilation and its relation to the hermeneutics of silence, the hermeneutic relation of silence to language and the hermeneutics of silence and receiving original speech. And in this way, we highlighted the missing link in the named research.
