Abstract

Recently the previous Caspian ecosystem is in a catastrophic condition which caused changes in the absolute and relative abundance of the commercially important Caspian kutum (Rutilus frisii kutum) in Iranian waters. The paper presents estimates of yield-per-recruit and spawning biomass-per-recruit under various harvest strategies of Fmax, F0.1, F30%. It proposes a method for estimating acceptable biological catch (ABC) that accounts for large differences in the quality and quantity of information and available data. The current average Y/R (with F=0.61/y, and tc=3.2 y) was 218.3 g per recruit, which indicates that the fishery is operating below the maximum Y/R at 236.9 g when tc = 3.5 y. The Y/R was the highest at Fmax and F0.1, when tc = 4 y (244.8 g and 214.2 g), respectively. The F30% value was 0.85/y at tc of 4 y with the SB/R of 338.3 g. The Fcurrent (0.61/y at current tc is 3.2 y) is higher than the corresponding reference points, F0.1 (0.47/y) and F30% (0.46/y). The ABC of kutum was estimated at 7,850 mt in 2009-2010.

Abstract

Zakaria Tamer, a Syrian writer, has been a leading writer of short stories. He has written his stories in an organized structure and a coherent way. All of his stories’ elements and components bring about movement and effort in order to send a specific message. “Wajh al-Qamar” is one of his stories in which he puts all elements together in a linear way to convey the message of defending Orient women who have been humiliated previously. To better understand the main message of the story, its analysis based on syntagmatic and paradigmatic axes makes a significant contribution to the transfer of message. Paradigmatic relation enables the writer to select among the words collection, those words which fit the structure, and the selected words will be put together in a vertical linear direction to create a new written composition. Its paradigmatic value is understood by the fact that Samiha means merciful (dedicator) and all Orinet women have dedicated their whole bodies to men. In syntagmatic axis, the relationship between phrases and their composition is investigated along a horizontal line, when they are put together, the story’s direction moves forward. The characteristics, which have been put together, have a clear meaning separately, but they will convey a symbolic meaning when used together like the syntagmatic of lemon tree with a mad man’s sigh, which refers to the creation of a distance between Samiha’s childhood and thereafter.

Abstract

Abstract This study is based on discourse of Chehel Nameye Kutah Be Hamsaram [Forty Short Letters to my Wife], by Nader Ebrahimi according to semiotics. In this thought, the relation between sign and meaning are considered together. Neither the sign nor the meaning can be effective. Therefore, both meaning and sign are pale without eachother. In this research, we are not just dealt with a single sign, but with the interaction of signs in a systematic way for continuityof signification. So the discourse system of this work is dynamic rather than static. We have considered the survey of continuity of signification in this research. According to the hypothesis the continuity of meaning depends on the memorial, intervening, and the corpus procedures of the sign.. The results show that continuity of signification most of all depends on the perceptive structure, after that the tensive, emotional, cultural and aesthetics procedures are the effective factors.

Abstract

The socio-economic data of shrimp fleet in Bushehr province for 2019, were collected in order to determine the role of this fisheries in creating employment, income and development of coastal areas of the Persian Gulf. The data were collected using a questionnaire. The fishing fleet of shrimp in Bushehr province includes 470 vessels, that, in addition to shrimp, catch fish and other aquatic animals outside the shrimp fishing season.
Based on the analyzes, the number of fixed job created by shrimp fishing fleet in Bushehr province, were 3756.2. The total number of jobs created (fixed, temporary and seasonal) was calculated to be 3934.2. Fixed job and the total number of job opportunities created (fixed, temporary and seasonal) by each vessel were 8.0 and 8.4 people, respectively. Analyzes showed that more than 98% of the annual income and livelihood of crews and their families depend on shrimp fleet. The annual working hours of each of the personnel working on the vessels were calculated to be 2110.2 hours, which in 2019 was about 2% less than the full-time equivalent working hours on a national scale (2107 hours) and 3% more than the full-time equivalent working hours on an international scale (2000 hours).

Abstract

Aims: Cancer patients suffer from the physical and mental consequences of its treatment. Despite regular treatment, a non-pharmacological intervention is uncommonly used to alleviate the psychological distress of hospitalized patients in Indonesia. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of visual art therapy in decreasing the anxiety and depressive symptoms in cancer patients.
Materials & Methods: This quasi-experimental study recruited 121 cancer patients from Dharmais Cancer Hospital Indonesia. The participants were divided into an intervention group (n=43) and the usual care group (n=78). The visual art therapy consisted of 3 sessions such as drawing pictures based on their feeling, drawing pictures inside the circle, and showing and presenting pictures. This intervention was delivered during hospital stays or guided by telephones if they went home in two weeks between April to August 2019 by researchers. The Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale was completed to collect anxiety and depressive symptoms. Independent t-test and Chi-Square test were used to determine the homogeneity of variables. The outcomes of the post-test and pre-test between groups were carried out by analysis of covariance.
Findings: At baselines, participants’ characteristics were homogenous, except for anxiety and depression levels. The intervention group had higher anxiety and depression levels (p<00.1) compared to the usual care group at the baselines. The post-test scores of anxiety (p<0.001) and depressive symptoms (p<0.001) of the intervention group significantly decreased compared to the usual care group.
Conclusion: Visual art therapy improves anxiety and depressive symptoms in cancer patients.

Abstract

Aim: In this study, the antioxidant properties of hydrolyzed protein from longtail tuna dark muscle with commercial enzymes (alcalase, alkaline protease, and evatase) were investigated.
Materials & Methods: Protein hydrolysates from tuna dark muscle were prepared by different enzymes Degree of hydrolysis (DH) was performed by TCA technique. The five aliquots at 60, 180, 240, 300, and 360 min were gathered during hydrolysis. The antioxidant activity of aliquots was monitored by in vitro assays (DPPH inhibition ability and Ferric (Fe3+) reducing power).
Findings: The antioxidant activities of protein hydrolysate from tuna dark muscle (TDM) increase with increasing time and DH. Alcalase hydrolyzed protein (AHP) generally showed higher antioxidative activity than evatase hydrolyzed protein (EHP) and alkaline protease hydrolyzed protein (APHP). Among the samples (concentration 3 mg.ml-1), AHP at 360 min significantly exhibited the highest ability to scavenge DPPH radical (72.6 %). Furthermore, AHP and APHP significantly showed a minimum IC50 value of 1.1 mg.ml-1 at 240 and 360 min hydrolysis. APHP significantly exhibited the highest ferric reducing power of 0.83 at 300 min and 0.76 at 240 min. AHP and APHP significantly showed the highest ferric reducing power of 0.74 at 360 min (p < 0.05).
Conclusion: This study confirmed that protein hydrolysate from TDM could be a good source of antioxidant peptides. In addition, the antioxidant activity of hydrolyzed protein relay on protease type and hydrolysis condition.
