10992 Toward Masnavi Narratology: A Look at the Book of Indications of the Sea: The Book of Narration in Masnavi Written by Hamidreza Tawakli Horri Abolfazl c c Shahid Beheshti St., English Department,Arak University 1 12 2011 4 14 0 0 04 04 2011 23 05 2011 9912 Theory of Metonymy in Islamic Rhetoric 1 12 2011 4 14 7 30 10 06 2010 30 01 2011 5260 Rethinking the theoretical framework of eloquence 1 12 2011 4 14 31 50 04 07 2010 23 02 2011 5773 Hypothetical Focalization and Intensional Semantics Pirloojeh Hossein Fayyazi Maryam 1 12 2011 4 14 51 78 12 04 2011 21 03 2012 In the present article, after reviewing the classical typologies of focalization and considering discoursal markers of focalization identified by traditional narratologists, we will turn our attention to a kind of focalization which entails hypothesizing about what might have been perceived/conceived through a perspective never adopted by the focalizer; thus “hypothetical focalization”. For this kind of focalization to be described (ahead of any explanation), we need to apply some linguistic and philosophical insights gained either after, or out of, the ensemble of conventional narratology. The ideas specifically at issue here will be those first developed within the frameworks of the possible-worlds and intensional semantics. The due conceptual framework will serve to spotlight the intensional aspects (or the sense) of narrative well beyond the structural narratologists’ and logical semanticists’ formal accounts. Therefore, the present study not only will specify the most usual modes of verbal focalization in a number of Persian extracts, but will also examine some lesser known semantic dimensions of narrative discourse, drawing on those virtual aspects of focalization inherently refraining from the logical or formal investigations pertinent to structural narratology. 8701 Examining the Potentials of the Archetypal Approach in Comparative Studies of Literature: A Brief Survey of the Shadow and Journey Archetypes Beyad Maryam Soltan g g Faculty member, English Department, Tehran University 1 12 2011 4 14 79 104 11 06 2011 21 03 2012 Abstract: Focusing on the linguistic and national diversities, the French school of comparative literature has mainly attempted to trace the footprints of the literature of one country in that of another mostly in a historical context. The rival American school, on the other hand, has raised new questions in this field and extended the scope of research to subsume other domains of scholarly endeavors. The present paper first intends to briefly examine the limitations of the French school. It then proceeds to show how the archetypal approach of literary criticism and the American school of comparative literature can be employed to bear fruitful results in the field of comparative studies. Such interdisciplinary approaches can make up for the possible shortcomings of the individual modes of study and make much of the potentials that the concept of archetype can offer for this purpose. The study then singles out the Shadow archetype and makes a comparative study of the concept in two epic works, i.e. Beowulf and Gilgamesh. It finally picks out a structural archetype—hero’s journey-- as an example, to briefly discuss and evaluate such models. 2120 The creat of pluralism in the view of molavi Hejazi Behjatosadat h Hejazi Behjatosadat i h professor assistant in Shahid Bahonar university of Kerman i professor asistant of shahid bahonar university of kerman 1 12 2011 4 14 105 132 18 05 2011 21 03 2012 The historic record of pluralism is related to sophastaeyan period. This book is the result of cultural exchanges among the great oriental civilizations (India, Iran and Islam) The main theme includes mainly the moral and political concepts interwoven in different layers (infrastructure and superstructure), leaving a work that one can hardly distinguish between the limist arias of ethics and politics in it. However, a deep exploration of the content of Klile and Demna reveals that. unlike the initial thought, there is a historical isputes, between ethics and politics running in different sections of it. Diving the book into the two layers of infrastructure and superstructure, this challenge will appear more obviously. Deliberation of the author(s) of klila and Demna on the necessity of dominance of ethics over politics has caused the outcome of every story to end with a certain moral results. However, during the story, especially in infrastructure layer, there are characters who, like Melancholy, believe in demoralization of politics. Therefore, we see many similarities between the Melancholia thoughts and the themes of some stories and characters of the book. Key words: Ethical critique, ethics and politics, klila and Demna, melancholy. 11234 a survey of continuity of signification in chehel nameye kutah be hamsaram, by nader ebrahimi aryana dina 1 12 2011 4 14 161 186 16 04 2011 27 02 2012 Abstract This study is based on discourse of Chehel Nameye Kutah Be Hamsaram [Forty Short Letters to my Wife], by Nader Ebrahimi according to semiotics. In this thought, the relation between sign and meaning are considered together. Neither the sign nor the meaning can be effective. Therefore, both meaning and sign are pale without eachother. In this research, we are not just dealt with a single sign, but with the interaction of signs in a systematic way for continuityof signification. So the discourse system of this work is dynamic rather than static. We have considered the survey of continuity of signification in this research. According to the hypothesis the continuity of meaning depends on the memorial, intervening, and the corpus procedures of the sign.. The results show that continuity of signification most of all depends on the perceptive structure, after that the tensive, emotional, cultural and aesthetics procedures are the effective factors. 1912 Structural Analysis of the Story of Feizi Dakani,”Nal and Daman” 1 12 2011 4 14 187 218 14 04 2011 21 03 2012 Story is one of the ancient forms of literature which has an old history among the nations. India among the eastern nations is also a mystical land whose numerous narrative masterpieces such as Mehabeharata and Ramayana are of importance. Nal and Daman is an episode of this narrative work which was translated from Sanskrit to Persian by Feizi Dakani, Malek-Al- Shoara of the court of the king Akbar in tenth century and then it was rendered in verse by him! Translation of various Indian stories to Persian in king Akbar period until the extinction of the rule of Teimourian predominantly influenced the Persian story-telling in the interim between the tenth to twelfth century. The present study represents an attempt to structurally analyze the Nal and Daman story based on the constituents of a story such as plot, character, point of view and so on. The achieved result is that the mentioned story simply has all the constituent elements of the modern story but it lacks the complexity of these kinds of stories. 4459 Two contradictions in Abolfazl Harri's criticism of the book "Ashrat al-Darya" (The Book of Signs of the Sea): The Book of Narratives in Masnavi Ma'ani. 1 12 2011 4 14 219 222 18 08 2013 23 08 2011 3419 The necessity of theoretical framework and research method in comparative literature studies 1 12 2011 4 14 219 222 18 08 2013 23 08 2011
